Lawson’s Finest brews superior beer and has played a key role in establishing Vermont beer among the world’s finest. Quality and contribution to the craft place Lawson’s Finest Liquids in the highest classification.
Lawson’s Finest Liquids is probably the most accessible of the big three Vermont breweries, despite the fact that it is not open to the public.
Owner and brewer Sean Lawson has selected a few key partners to make his brews a bit more obtainable than other beers in this rarefied stratus. First off, the Warren Store on Route 100 in Warren, VT usually has something on hand, and it tends to be just in time to kick off the weekend. Legend has it that the Warren Store was Lawson’s first customer, and it has helped make the store something of a must-do destination for beerfans.
A few brewpubs and restaurants — notably Pro Pig in Waterbury — generally have something from Lawson’s on tap.
Another key to Lawson’s availability is a partnership with Two Roads Brewing in Stratford CT. Although Two Roads is no giant, they do have the facilities and quality to enable Lawson to substantially augment his weekly deliveries.
But let’s be perfectly clear: It still requires some effort and timing to find a can or draft…but the effort is unquestionably worth it.
